Ascension

The Ascension window and stone sculpture were created as a monument for the SAS on the 70th anniversary of the regiment. The ten metre high work is situated in the nave of Hereford Cathedral.

John Maine used over 3000 pieces of coloured glass to complete the two-layered window, combined with stone from Brazil, Scotland and Belgium in the sculpture below.

This short film describes the process of designing and making the work, and its impact on the life of the cathedral.
